This is a little collection of Type 4 pictures. Some I took myself and some were sent to me by other Type 4-enthusiasts.

| Prototypes | Type 4 prototype information is very hard to come by. Here is the few snippets I found so far. This page shows the 411 Cabriolet prototype manufactured by Karmann in Osnabrück and the 411 notchback prototype, also known as EA 142. |
| 1969 | The first year 411 model with the very unique "cyclops" single headlights look. |
| 1970 | The 1970 model year brought dual headlights and the 411 station wagon. |
| 1971 | The changes for 1971 were mostly cosmetic, such as new coloring in the dashboard. |
