This is a collector for more or less recent information on salvage yards that have (or are said to have) any Type 4 parts cars on them. Before you go, make sure to contact the yard or business and ask if the items are still available. I have visited this place whenever I happened to be in the San Diego area and they always had a few Type 4s on the lot. The owner, Jim Lucca, is nice and easy to deal with. Bring tools and take the parts off yourself. Interstate also has a second outlet in San Marcos. |

Eric Forsman says: Tim's VW is located just outside Atlanta and they
have a 1973 412 without engine in the yard. The car is in decent shape
and even has the manual and a Chilton repair guide with it. Unfortunately it seems that Tim is unwilling to actually ship parts across the country. Mary Kate Glass talked to him and he claims that shipping is more trouble than it is worth. So this source is probably best for local folks who can stop by in person. |
