This is the seond of Kirk's two Type 4s. The yellow 411 wagon on the left is listed with the 1971 model year pictures. Apart from the obvious modifications (the alloy wheels) this 412 now sports a 2.0 liter engine out of a Vanagon, complete with hydraulic lifters. 8,000 of the 58,000 miles on this car are on this tuned engine. Kirk bought it through eBay and getting it home involved a fun 4,600 mile cross-country trip that went by without any major problems.
